Charlie Clenton, a transport engineer with Swansea Council, has helped to unveil a mile-long section of cycle track near Ynystawe Primary School, helping to provide a vital link for pupils and residents in the community.

The new section of track has been developed as part of the Council's ongoing Active Travel programme and links between Ynystawe and Clydach.

The latest section of cycle track is part of major investment in cycling and walking infrastructure in the city after the council received grant funding from the Welsh Government.

Charlie said: "We've introduced a number of new sections of cycle path across Swansea during the last year and I'm really pleased to have got the opportunity to be involved in the latest scheme near my old school."

Mark Thomas Cabinet Member for Environment and Infrastructure, said: "We have achieved a lot in recent years using Welsh Government transport grant funding.

"A number of new cycle and walking routes have been developed, expanding our existing cycle network, ensuring cycling can increase as a healthy activity and also as an alternative mode of transport."
