CORONAVIRUS/ CORONAFIRWS

GOING FOR A WALK AND TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS

You can still enjoy a walk in these difficult times - walking is great for your physical and mental health.

You are entitled to exercise once daily, but this should be from your home address. You should not drive to a location away from your home address to exercise, walk your dogs, etc. This is unnecessary travel and not permitted under current travel restrictions.

All destination car parks around Gower coastline are now closed in support of these travel restrictions. You may still use a beach or rural footpath to exercise if you live within walking distance and remember the instructions about social distancing.

Do not meet or walk together in groups unless you live with those people. Keep a safe distance from other people - at least two metres away. If the beach or footpath is so busy that you're unable to maintain that distance, then leave and go home.

Your cooperation and understanding at this time is appreciated.

Rights of way

There are over 400 miles (647km) of public rights of way within the City and County of Swansea. We manage and maintain the network and work closely with landowners and users to keep the paths to a standard that the public can enjoy.
